April 15,
Another morning of class. In BES we were reminded that we are heading to Canterbury in the morning. A day trip I am excited about, mostly because I have read parts of The Canterbury Tales, and I want to see the Cathedral all these pilgrims are headed to. We had Contemporary Britain and then during our break I read some and then decided to walk around the block, as it was a nice day in London. After our seminar Carissa and I headed to the Royal Chelsea Hospital, because for BES we had small group presentations and had to interview WWII veterans. When we first arrived we talked to some guy who was not happy with us and eventually told us to head to the museum to talk to a guy there. We headed to the museum found someone and told him what we had to do. He was nice and told us to go down a walkway and we would eventually run into a WWII veteran we could talk to. We got to the walkway and found no one, we headed back towards where we came from and we ran into someone. His name was Albert and he is originally from Scotland. The next veteran we interviewed was Tom Phelan, and he was from Ireland. After talking with both of them we headed back to VH. It was quite an experience talking to them and learning more about them. Of course, when I was talking with my dad later he brought up some good questions we should have asked.
For the past few days our room hadn't been receiving internet and it was still not working in my room so I headed down to the dining room so I could get better reception. That was where the rest of my evening was spent.
Cheers

Back to class
April 14th
Ah, Wednesday, how I have not missed these days full of class. I arrived to fictions of the U.S.A. having finished our book, Tracks. The teacher is giving us two weeks to finish so we don't technically have to have it done until next week. I was the only one out of two people to have finished the entire book. Thank you ridiculous late boarding flights. This book was about Native Americans, it was interesting to say the least.
For art in London we headed to the National Gallery again, we got to see some Degas, Monet, Manet, among others. Some of my favorite artists. I love Degas, mostly because he does ballet pictures, but I love the colors that the impressionists use. Soft colors, just my thing. I am a girl of pastels. I like my bright colors at time, but I do enjoy the softness that the pastels bring to things.
Next was Victorian London, oh what a joy. Still not sure how I feel about that class. I was hoping it would have to do with Queen Victoria, wrong. It is still interesting to learn about what was going on while she was Queen. It is weird to learn about how people lived. Especially in the East End. Sanitation was horrible, the Great Stink happened, which brought those richer people out to actually fix the problem. Anyway, I will stop boring you with my Victorian London class.
I only have about a month or so left in London, it is/has gone by so fast, make it stop please. Thanks. Everyone should know how the rest of my night went. I got back from class and I sat around in my room. Nothing too new with my nights ;)
Cheers

Relaxing day
April 13th
After arriving into London late in the evening, I decided to use this day as a day to stay in and try to get things done. I did not sleep in too much, actually just until 9am again so I could eat some breakfast. I decided that I should unpack my things and sort out the dirty and clean clothes. I also worked on some school work. I have a paper coming up in the next week and I have not figured out what I am going to write about so part of my day was spent looking at the different essay questions I could answer. Lets see when I get this one done.
Getting back to London was kind of strange. Being away from London for a week was very nice but as stated it was weird to come back. I was happy to of course, but I don't know exactly how I felt. Either way, I had an excellent time and I cannot wait to go and travel more! Whenever that may be.
