April 11th
I woke up this morning knowing Morgan would not be around and neither would Kelsey. I also remembered not being woken up this morning. As, I told Kelsey to just wake me up before she left and we would say our goodbyes then, which she ended up not doing. I was planning to shower before Morgan arrived back so we could head to the market down the block, but I wasn't feeling up to it yet so I grabber her computer instead. I heard Morgan get back and about five minutes later Kelsey's mom logs onto her facebook, in hope that one of us girls would be on, to let us know that Kelsey lefter her wallet in Morgan's handbag. I told Morgan right away and off she went to the airport to meet Kelsey. I decide this is a good time to take a shower. The water is freezing yet again so I hop in, wash my hair and hop right back out. I hurry to check the computer, as Kelsey's mom was going to let me know when they got word from Kelsey. I eventually heard that they haven't gotten a call from her, so I am to call Morgan. I have her numbers in my phone, just not with a phone code before them. As I am about to try again Kelsey's mom says that Kelsey has her ticket and is through security waiting for her flight. Thank goodness. Thanks are given and Morgan returns.
When Morgan gets back we head down to the local market. I have seen markets before, but not really like this one. This market had tables that people just piled clothes and 'junk' onto. They had tables full of shoes, which I found a cute pair of heels, but no right size. Don't fret though, I bought a pair of flats later on. That is all I got as well, and they were only five euros. We walked around that for an hour or so and decided to head back to the apartment.
For lunch Morgan made me her 'specialty', cheesy rice, it actually wasn't too bad and I helped her eat her rice (plus free). We then headed over to the Colosseum where I took a tour of it and Morgan sat outside. Since Kelsey didn't want to go while she was here, I wanted to go back and see the inside. The inside of the Colosseum is not really what I expected. I knew that most of it was missing, but it's hard to imagine what it actually looked like.
After i was done with the Colosseum we headed to the Vatican to see if I had time to climb the dome. We got there and I headed in while Morgan, again, waited outside. I got there and I asked to buy a ticket, then I was told I had to do the elevator/stairs instead of all stairs. I was not going to pay two more euros to take the elevator when I knew I could climb all of the stairs. I headed back out and found Morgan. We stopped at Old Bridge to buy some gelato on our way back. While we were waiting in the long line, we found out that the Roma football team had won. As a bunch of cars came by honking their horns and people were wearing Roma colors, and then the coach carrying the team drove by.
We purchased our gelato and headed back to the apartment. The rest of the night was spent watching Little Britain, getting Pizza Boom for supper and watching more Little Britain. It was another good day in Roma. Sadly, I have to leave tomorrow. It will be nice to get back into the hustle and bustle of things, though it will most likely be a tough transition. Oh well! Cheers
