Valentine's Day away from home...

...wasn't too bad, but would have been better if I were with Joe or with friends and family.  I was woken up around 8:55 by the lovely neighbors next door, who love to talk (loud).  So I shut off my alarm and got to sleep until about 10:30.  When I decided I should probably get up and do something.  I showered and got ready for the day that I wouldn't really be leaving VH.  Quite all right, it's still chilly outside.  I made my lunch of grilled cheese and some chips and salsa, delicious!  I then hung out in the lounge for a while watching the telly and reading some magazines and newspapers.  I was told not to leave the building before two ;)  As I was going to receive something.  I eventually got my computer to do some journal entries for BES, which I never got to, but I did write my grandma a postcard and I started reading a short story for my class on Wednesday.  Then the fire alarm started going off.  There were maybe five or six of us in the lounge and we just sat there.  We just looked at each other not sure what to do, knowing that there wasn't a fire.  After it going off for about five minutes the lady at receptions told everyone we should leave and she called the fire department.  We stood outside for maybe five/ten minutes before we were let back in.  We all received a text later from Mark saying a distribution board was blown.  No lights on on the ground floor for a while.  I headed back up to my room to finish homework and such.  I also did finally receive the "thing" I was waiting all day for.  It came after two though ;)  But I happened to receive two dozen roses from my wonderful Joe.  Over did it, but that's who he is :)  I have yet to receive my Valentine's package in the mail as well!  Someday soon hopefully.

After skyping with Joe some I went and made my Valentine's meal.  I made noodles and chicken.  Pretty good, I had plenty of leftovers so I left those for Monday.  I then had a bowl of ice cream.  From Sainsbury's I bought a caramel, cinnamon, waffle ice cream.  Delicious!  The waffle is just waffle pieces on the top of the frozen ice cream.  People had been coming in the whole time I was int he kitchen saying something was wrong with the internet.  All of the power in VH did go out for a couple seconds earlier, but I was able to sign back onto the internet.  When I did get back to my room the internet was not working.  I ended up calling my parents when they were headed to my dad's office, so we got to chat a little bit and made a skype "meeting" for Monday night.  I finished reading the short story for my class, and I'm just going to say that it was quite depressing.  I watched a little telly and then off to bed it was.
That was pretty much my Valentine's Day.  It wasn't too bad :)  Cheers
