I may be back for good now ;)

March 19th

There were still no lights this morning, sad day.  Housekeeping came around knocking on everyone's door to see who would be staying tonight.  They said if the power wasn't back by 2:00 pm then they would get us rooms somewhere to stay.  Breakfast would again be on the program, which is nice.  Rachel and I got ready and we headed out to find somewhere to eat.  We headed to Leicester Square to see if there were any discount tickets for good shows, there weren't any so we headed to find a place to eat.  We found a place near Leicester Square so we ate there.  Rachel got eggs and toast, while I got the same plus bacon.  It was quite delicious and I ate most of it.  While eating we decided to go to the Tower of London, it was quite chilly and sprinkling in the morning which is never a good sign.  We got to the Tower and got in line to buy tickets.  We headed in and thought about joining the guided tour but we would have had to wait about 40 minutes so we decided to conquer it ourselves.  The tower of London has so much history, I did not know much about it, only that people were beheaded there and were imprisoned there.  I did not know that it used to be a place of residence for past kings.  (I will put up pictures soon).  We got to see the crown jewels, there are a lot of them, and we also got to see the place where many people were beheaded, a famous one most of you may know is Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's second wife.  We saw a place where people were also held, I can't remember who was held there, I believe it was Lady Jane Grey.  Very interesting.
Our next stop was to walk along the Thames and see London Bridge, we then walked up to The Monument, and headed to Kings Cross.  After some speculation on where we should go we finally found platform 9 3/4, they should really put up a sign.  We got pictures of it but not with it.  Maybe when my parents come up I will drag them to it so I can get a picture with it!  It is just one of those things you need a picture with.  We then headed to Primark where Rachel got a cute bag and I bought some pants.  Now, like I said Primark is crazy busy, so I bought these pants without trying them on.  I was going to try them on when I got back and if they didn't fit or if I didn't like them then I was going to return them.  After we made our purchases we headed back to VH to see if the power was back on, it was!  Good news!! :)  We sat around the rest of the afternoon and when we finally got hungry we decided to go to Nando's which is a short walk away.  Nando's is a restaurant that isn't too expensive, plus they have chicken, also corn on the cob.  We ate our chicken and salad or corn on the cob and headed back to VH to spend the rest of the evening watching telly and going to bed at a decent hour for our very early morning to head to Stratford-Upon-Avon.  Cheers
